God created each one of us in His image. He loves you and desires to have a relationship but will not force you to serve Him. You have a will and have the freedom of choice. Most will choose to go their way on a path filled with sin, but you can choose a different direction.
- Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:1)
- For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
- The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)
God has provided His Holy Spirit to spend time with you and guide you through life. Religious traditions create a barrier to this relationship and will often replace the work of Christ with your efforts.
- There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. (Proverbs 14:12)
- Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. (Mark 7:13)
Entering into a relationship with God will require you first to acknowledge that the only way into it is through Jesus.
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. (Hebrews 9:14 – 15)
God provided you with a path through Jesus that ensures you can enter His presence. He will never force you to walk this but instead allows you the choice to accept or reject His gift of forgiveness.
- For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. (1 Timothy 2:5)
- For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit. (1 Peter 3:18)
So, which path will you choose? One will lead you further away from God and the other into His loving arms. If you are willing to give up your sins and pursue God, you can invite Jesus to control your life.
“Dear God, I acknowledge that I’m a sinner and ask for your forgiveness. I believe in my heart and confess Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I believe that He died for my sin and that you raised Him to life as you promised to in your Word. In the name of Jesus, Amen.”
